GlitterGoth
Shiny happy people holding...Coffin shaped purses? Yup. You, my friend, have just met a GlitterGoth. Close relatives of Perkygoffs, GlitterGoths are the goths who primarily likes dark but cute things rather than more 'traditional' goth aesthetics; you would probably never see one wearing a corset.
No, instead they mix black with bright colors, adorn themselves in stripes and polkadots, and carry around toys (like fuzzy bat plushies, not barbies). Some wear things such as tutus, shorts, mary jane shoes, T-shirts and fishnet (together), arm warmers, and home made accesories. And a lot of Emily the strange and nightmare before christmas.
Musically, they like the "less dark" end of the gothic spectrum. Synthpop is very popular. Example bands would be Spray and The birthday massacre.
GlitterGoth is one of the newer styles of goth, although by how much is anyone's guess. It takes a lot of inspiration from New wave artists like David Bowie. And Tim Burton films.
Make-up is important for the GlitterGoth look; it, unsuprisingly, often includes glitter, as well fake eyelashes, brightly colored eye-shadow, but also the standard goth make-up such as eyeliner and sometimes black lipstick. GlitterGoths often have brigtly coloured streaks in their hair, which the usually wear in 'cutsie' styles such as twin pigtails.
GlitterGoths tend to be cute, happy, and somewhat ditzy, but never to the extent of Perkygoffs.
