Otaku

Otaku is a Japanese term used to refer to people with obsessive interests, particularly anime, manga, and video games. Due to just how obbsessed they are with these things, Otaku are often stereotyped as socially inept or loners, although they are actually very social with other otaku, and online, but if they take said obbsession too far than otaku can be prone to becoming hikikomori.
Otakus often collect figureines of characters from their chosen fandom, and this may dominate a signifigant portion of their life. It is this obbsesseve quality which seperates an otaku from a regular fan.
As well as the figureines, Otakus will collect any little thing about their obsessions, often owning more mechandise than actual anime. Otakus are often associated with dating sims, and moe fetishism, along with the various terms that go with it "Tsundere", "meganekko", "Pettanko", "Zettai Ryouiki" (which is often paired with Tsundere) and the like.
Whilst a normal fan may be obbsessed, they know when to quit and normally have other lives. An otaku doesn't. Their lifestyle seems a little creepy to some, but I bet they can be nice when they unwind a little!
Fashion is pretty much anything goes, as long as it has something to do with their chosen part of Otakuism, and is often purchased online due to the general hikikomori-ish-ness of Otakus. They are also generallly very sloppy/I-don't-care with their clothes. Musically, they go for the theme tunes of their obbsession, or else are along the lines of 'music? What music?'
