Prep

The modern usage of the word prep is very different from traditional preps, referred to on this site as preppies to avoid confusion. Preps now are essencially popular kids without the explicit popularity.
Female preps usually dye their hair blond, or get highlights, and usually straighten it. They love to shop. They almost always have boyfriends, who are the center of their world, and their favorite discussion topic. They probably own a lot of shoes, and may wish they were paris hilton.
The boys do sports, and spike their expensivley styled hair with too much gel. They also usually have girlfriends, who they use to show off with. They like too watch sports as well, and quoting family guy.
Fashion wise, Abercrombie and Fitch, Hollister, Aerosmith, American Apparel and such brands are the hallmarks of a prep. The boys wear expensive trainers, jeans, and polos; often with popped collars. The females wear light blues and pinks, and wear short skirts, heels, and that sort of thing.
Preps mostly listen to Pop, or otherwise mainstream music. Think MTV. Justin Timberlake, Rhianna, Fall Out Boy, Hilary Duff, Beyonce, Lady GaGa, NSYNC, Taylor Swift, Backstreet boys, that sort of thing.
Prep girls get badly sterotyped, in comparison to the boys and most other labels. They are thought of as bitchy, fickle, giggly sluts that are incapeable of saying a sentance without the words 'omg' or 'totally' in it, but of course they are not all like that.
Preps of both genders are stereotyped by 'alternative' people (who are usually posers themselves) as stupid, unoriginal, and desperate to be popular, although, of course, your style is just that, and sterotypes like that are cruel and innacurate.
